At Dorothy House, we believe every life is incredibly precious, and no-one should face death alone.

We provide palliative and end of life care to a population of over 593,000 people in Bath & North East Somerset, and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire.

Our expert staff include doctors, nurses, therapists, carers and counsellors, who will see patients at home, in a clinic setting or in a care home. All of our services are provided free of charge, when and where they are most needed. Over 90% of our care takes places in patient’s homes or in community settings.

We are the only specialist providers of end of life care for adults in this area. We currently care for almost 3,000 patients each year.

But we must do more. There is an unmet need in our communities - Dorothy House is only caring for just over half* of the people estimated as having an end of life care need. With your help, we can and will bridge the care gap!

We need to help more people, and to do that we need your support. People across our community are facing death every day and by being part of our ground-breaking Bridge the Gap Appeal, you will help make this a reality.
