Our Hidden Treasure

'Our Hidden Treasure' was established to help children and young people in need who struggle with education and mental health difficulties. We support them to succeed in the world around them, setting them up for a bright future.

Our services include:
  • Specialist sessions - for children and young people struggling to keep up on peer level. We support through, therapeutic intervention, professional support and private teaching. This is essential to their self-esteem and confidence.
  • Emotional support - helping children and young people with difficult backgrounds understand and regulate their emotions, through play therapy, counselling and mentoring.
  • Vocational skills-building sessions – after-school clubs and projects where children can find their success through sports, woodworking, drama etc. Sessions are an opportunity to learn new skills, and trades to help them in their employment and a space to find achievement beyond academics.
  • Essentials to children from financially challenged homes – including warm meals, snacks/essentials and school supplies. Resources are provided with discretion to allow all children to have the tools they need to focus throughout the day and achieve.
  • Parental support - we support parents through referrals, assessments or diagnosis by liaising with professionals, mitigating language barriers and giving parents the confidence to advocate for their child and ensure their voices are heard.
  • Mentoring program – trained mentors to support children and young people struggling with mental health. Mentors are also trained to support parents with the tools they will need to foster positive development and help their children through difficulties. 
With sensitivity and discretion, we support children to flourish in their surroundings, learn life skills, create positive friendships and develop in a happy, secure environment. These services amount to enormous costs. Some children cannot get government support and their parents cannot afford these necessary services.
