OxyGen seeks funding to establish a cutting-edge hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber in Gateshead, modelled on the highly successful Oxychai chamber in Manchester. This facility will operate at oxygen pressures up to twice that of sea level, offering advanced therapeutic options for both children and adults with conditions such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, cancer, infertility, stroke, and more.
As a non-profit organization, OxyGen will operate as a low-fee charity, ensuring accessibility to all, regardless of financial means. The initiative has the backing of world-renowned experts in hyperbaric medicine, including Professor Phillip James (Scotland) and Professor Shai Efrati (Israel), both of whom bring decades of clinical experience.
Unlike smaller, lower-pressure chambers, the Gateshead facility will operate at 1.75 to 2.0 ATA (Atmospheres Absolute), maximizing therapeutic benefits while maintaining patient safety.
Gateshead faces significant challenges in accessing advanced healthcare. By providing this service as a low-fee charity, OxyGen aims to dismantle these barriers and serve the broadest possible population.
