Banks in Crisis Again...only this time it’s the food banks.

We must raise £1.25million to continue to support the food banks.

The cost-of-living crisis has had an enormous impact on the number of people using food banks. At the same time, donations to food banks have dropped sharply.  Last year, there was a 38% increase in the number of people visiting a food bank in London, with 1 in 4 parents in London struggling to afford to feed their family*.

Naomi Russell set up Food Bank Aid in her garage in April 2020, at the start of Covid. Since then, Food Bank Aid has delivered nearly £5million worth of goods and has become a vital source of support to food banks across North London and Hertfordshire.

Food Bank Aid:

o   supports 31 Food Banks across North London and into Hertfordshire. In turn they help over 20,000 vulnerable people, including 5,000 children every week.

o   delivers 70,000 items to food banks every week.

o   engages 400 volunteers to sort, pack and deliver goods to food banks.

o   has developed a unique system which ensures food banks get exactly what they need.

o   ensures that goods are shared with food banks, which are less well served by their local community.

o   is a community charity mobilising communities to help communities.

o   works with 90 local schools educating about food poverty.

o   has developed a network of food bank managers to share expertise and best practice.

If we can’t support these food banks, who will?

Can we bank on you?

With huge appreciation
