כששניהם נולדו, פני ההורים זרח, תינוק חדש שכב בעריסה. תינוק ככל התינוקות.
כשהחלה שלב ההתפתחות התברר ששניהם, כל אחד לחוד, קיבל אתגר מיוחד מהשמים. מאז ועד היום שמוליק (בן 33) ושרל'ה (בת 22) מתמודדים בגבורה ומנהלים את חייהם מעל כיסא הגלגלים. בני משפחה, חברים וידידים קרובים, עומדים לצידם ומלווים אותם בכל צעד ושעל; עוטפים אותם בהמון חמימות ומתאמצים כדי להפוך עבורם את חיי היום-יום למונגשים ואפשריים.
ואז הגיע הרגע המאושר בו הם נפגשו, השידוך נסגר ושמוליק ושרל'ה הפכו ל'חתן וכלה'.
אוטוטו הם מתקרבים כבר אל החופה, נרגשים וחוששים, לראשונה בחייהם הם פותחים חיים חדשים משל עצמם, בבית פרטי ומונגש. סוף-סוף החלומות הארוכים שלהם מתגשמים.
זהו, שדבר אחד עדיין חוצץ ביניהם לבין שגרת חיים מאתגרת: כסף, והרבה.
בני זוג ששניהם סובלים מנכות ומתניידים רק בסיוע צמוד, זקוקים לכחמישים אלף ₪ בחודש כדי לנהל חיים תקינים. (23,000 ₪ עבור עוזר ועוזרת סיעודיים. אלפי שקלים לדירה מונגשת, רכב מונגש, מלווים ומסייעים ושלל אמצעי עזר וסיוע בבית ומחוצה לו). כיום שניהם ביחד מקבלים כ-25 אלף ₪ מהקצבה הממשלתית, אבל בשביל לפתוח את המחר, בשביל הצעד הראשון למחרת יום החופה, הם זקוקים לנו, לכל החברים והידידים שעזרו להם עד היום, לכל מי שיש לו לב חם.
'החברים של שמוליק' קיבלו על עצמם 'לסדר לו את החיים' לשנים הקרובות והם פונים אל הלב שלכם, הצטרפו ותהיו חלק ממחוללי האושר והחיים החדשים של שמוליק ושרל'ה.
