From September 12 to 22, 2024, the 37th Jewish Culture Days of the Jewish Community of Berlin will take place, this year under the motto "Light." This light stands for renewal, hope, spirituality, and confidence.

On September 22, a ceremonial closing event will be held at Bebelplatz in Mitte, where a new Torah scroll will be completed. This location holds special significance: On May 10, 1933, the Nazis burned more than 20,000 books by Jewish and other undesirable authors here. The creation of a new Torah scroll at this site is a powerful symbol of renewal and remembrance.

We warmly invite you to participate in this meaningful and unique event and to support this project. Your donations are of particular importance to commemorate the victims of the barbaric massacre, as well as the fallen Israeli soldiers and deceased civilians in Israel. The Torah scroll will be dedicated to these individuals to provide a dignified memorial for the murdered. The names of the victims must never be forgotten: Every person has a name.

The closing event is organized in collaboration with Kahal Adass Jisroel and supported by the Orthodox Rabbinical Conference, the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation, the Conference of European Rabbis, and the Rabbinical Seminary of Berlin.
