UJS is the voice of nearly 9,000 Jewish students, spanning over 70 Jewish Societies (J-Socs) on campuses across the UK and Ireland. We are traditional, progressive, cultural and spiritual; we come from the left, centre and right and can be found across religious and political spectrums.
Guided by our core values, the priorities of our elected President and policy passed at UJS Conference, together we create and deliver powerful campaigns; fighting prejudice, advancing inclusion, and inspiring education and action on the issues that matter to us.
Locally, nationally and internationally, we run diverse and dynamic programmes; provide access to kosher food and accommodation; and passionately engage with Israel, interfaith, and social action projects.
For over 100 years, we’ve been leading, defending and enriching Jewish student life across the UK and Ireland, and we’re proud to be the voice of Jewish students.
This past year
We have grown with almost 4,000 new members signing up (more than 2.5x our usual number). We have supported almost 18,000 Friday Night Dinners to be served, almost 1,000 local events to be run, brought together more than 7,000 people in national events and campaigns, and helped to fund and support over 70 Jewish societies to be there when Jewish students need them most.
This coming year -
The money raised in this year’s campaign will support The next cohort of Jewish leaders, will bring brand new programming into the national Jewish student activity (including new roles within the UJS team of “Head of Programming” and “Membership Engagement”), will enable UJS to bring back our international trips to Israel, Europe and the USA. It will of course continue to support our work in raising the Jewish student voice when local and national bodies need to hear it, and to stand up for Jewish students and WITH Jewish students, ensuring that every Jewish student can be proudly Jewish in any way they choose to be.
This coming year we will do more – bigger and better than last year, and more successful than we can even imagine. But of course, we cannot do it alone – we need your support.
So Let’s Raise Their Voices, TOGETHER
